Ashton named Bell Media’s SVP business operations


TORONTO – Adam Ashton has been appointed to the new position of senior vice-president, business operations for Bell Media, effective immediately. Ashton has been with the company for more than 15 years, most recently as president, Canada's Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium.

Ashton will be responsible for a unified approach to certain areas of the company, specifically revenue management, research, and the Bell Media Agency, says the company’s release. He will also “create synergies to ensure an informed, cohesive, and unified approach to such core business functions as pricing and forecasting advertising revenues, analyzing consumer insights, and leveraging the company's multi-platform promotional inventory,” the company’s statement reads.

"Adam has extensive marketing experience, operational expertise, and strategic vision. Through his leadership of the wildly successful 2010 and 2012 Olympic Games broadcasts, he has proven that he has the ability to mobilize business units, plan, strategize, and deliver effective promotion across four screens," said Kevin Crull, president, Bell Media. "He continues to be a tremendous asset to our company, and the leadership and wealth of experience he brings to this new role are critical as we take on the new and exciting challenges of a rapidly-evolving industry."

Besides being president of Canada's Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium, he also served as vice-president, marketing for the Consortium and worked at TSN for more than 10 years, leaving as vice-president, marketing, where he was responsible for consumer marketing and brand development, leading to the continued growth of Canada's most successful specialty brand.
