LONDON, ON – Former CBC and Twitter exec Kirstine Stewart has been named chief strategy officer at London-based lifestyle and entertainment media company Diply.

Founded in 2013 and owned by GoViral Inc., Diply says that it attracts 34 million U.S. monthly visitors and has more than one billion “monthly global content views” on its site, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and other channels.

Most recently VP of Twitter's North American media partnerships, Stewart (pictured) initially joined Twitter as the managing director for Canada from CBC’s English services and CBC/Radio-Canada where she headed up their TV, radio and digital properties.  She has also served as SVP programming for Alliance Atlantis where she oversaw HGTV, Food Network, National Geographic and BBC Canada.

In this role, she will lead expansion efforts with content creators, accelerate content and video distribution efforts, and work alongside recently hired president and chief revenue officer Dan Lagani to create innovative new opportunities for brand advertisers, reads the announcement.

“We are thrilled to have Kirstine onboard.  She is an experienced media leader with a track record of being a transformative player. Kirstine’s expertise will drive new growth, raise Diply’s profile, and help make us a household name”, said Diply co-founder and CEO Taylor Ablitt, in the announcement.  “With this addition of our third executive hire this year, we have now built the team needed to take Diply to the next level and grow our enthusiastic base of content viewers.”

“I am energized by the opportunity to help Diply grow its roster of quality creators while reaching more people across more platforms with meaningful and personally relevant content,” added Stewart. “With more than one billion monthly global content views and a highly active base of followers, Diply has an impressive track record with a solid foundation for its next phase of growth”.
