Freedom offers new 100 GB Big Binge Bonus

CALGARY – Freedom Mobile today announced the launch of its big Christmas season selling push, the Big Binge Bonus, a limited-time offer which gives customers 100 GB of bonus LTE data in addition to their monthly data allotment. This bonus data can be used anytime — and it all comes at no additional cost.

“We’re continuing to find new and better ways to give consumers what they want, and that includes giving Canadians the freedom to binge their data usage without incurring expensive overage fees,” said Paul McAleese, president of wireless at Shaw Communications (Freedom’s parent company).  We don't ever recall any other Canadian wireless company offering such a data bonus to its customers.

“Canadians are watching more video content, streaming more music, and using more data on their mobile devices every day", added McAleese, in the news release.  "Our Big Binge Bonus gives Freedom Mobile customers the data they need, free of charge, so they can enjoy unrestrained access to their favourite content.”

Freedom Mobile’s Big Binge Bonus is available now for new and existing customers when they sign up for a Big Gig plan starting at $60 per month with a new handset on a two-year term. Additional data from the 100 GB Big Binge Bonus is automatically applied once a customer exceeds their monthly allotment. Big Binge Bonus data never expires as long as customers remain with Freedom Mobile on an eligible rate plan.

“When we launched our Big Gig plans last year, we made wireless data affordable for all Canadians and demonstrated that they should expect better value from their wireless provider,” continued McAleese. “Our Big Binge Bonus builds on that momentum and presents Canadians with an unrivalled way to do what they want on their devices without worry.”

Since introducing its Big Gig rate plans a year ago (which caused enough of a wave in the marketplace that the Big Three were forced to counter-offer, which didn't exactly go smoothly), Freedom Mobile has continued to improve its network to enhance customers’ experiences, “including launching Extended Range LTE to provide subscribers with farther-reaching coverage and enhanced indoor LTE reception, as well as the introduction of VoLTE on select Apple, Samsung, LG, Motorola, Sony, Alcatel, and Google devices,” adds the release.

The Big Binge Bonus will be prominent in Freedom Mobile’s holiday advertising, featuring Emmy-nominated Canadian actor Will Arnett.  While the holidays may be a time of indulgence, consumers can switch to Freedom Mobile and binge their data whenever they want, guilt-free. The new campaign includes a mix of traditional radio, television and outdoor, along with digital video and banners and social advertising.
