Arris’ Skarica chosen as Canadian Engineering Professional of the Year


EXTON, PA – Arris’ Christopher Skarica has been named as the 2012 recipient of the SCTE Canadian Engineering Professional of the Year Award.

The annual award honors an engineering professional who resides in Canada, who is an SCTE member, and who has displayed outstanding technical achievements and contributions to the advancement of the cable telecommunications industry.

Skarica, who is account vice-president, strategic sales, Canada, will be presented with the award at SCTE Canadian Summit 2012 in Toronto during the event’s luncheon on March 27.  Cartt.ca is the media partner for the event.

A 23-year industry veteran, Skarica has held various engineering and senior management positions with Rogers, Maclean-Hunter, and Cogeco Cable for the first half of his career. For the past 12 years, he has held several senior executive-level engineering and sales positions on the vendor side of the business.  In his current role, Skarica works closely with Canadian MSOs to help deliver existing Arris solutions and products to the marketplace and drives internal R&D teams in the delivery of next-generation technologies from Arris.

The SCTE Canadian Summit is scheduled for March 27-28, and this year will be preceded by the Wireless Symposium on March 26. Both events will be held at the Toronto Congress Centre in Toronto.
