AOL Canada launches new music channel

TORONTO – AOL Canada on Wednesday announced the launch of AOL Music Canada
(http://www.aol.ca/music), a premium new online music channel featuring unique content, tunes, clips and videos from popular artists and emerging Canadian stars.

The AOL.ca/music channel can be accessed by Canadians for free.

An in-studio concert with Feist performing live, exclusive versions of songs from her new album, a Q&A, and behind-the-scenes clips from her recording session are available on the new channel.

As well, more than 120 international stars from a variety of musical genres can be found online as part of AOL Sessions. Canadian stars Bedouin Soundclash, Sarah Slean, Moneen and others will be featured in this segment.

“Video may have killed the radio star, but nowadays the Internet is quickly replacing music television thanks to the kind of content available at our just-launched AOL Music Canada channel,” said Joshua Ostroff, music editor at AOL Canada.

AOL Canada General Manager Jonathan Lister added, “We want to provide a unique online experience that puts control firmly in the hands of users to decide when and where they want to see a concert, watch a video, book travel plans, check the weather or engage in an online discussion about their favourite band.”
