TORONTO — Blue Ant Media’s BBC Earth channel announced today the premiere dates for the all-new original series Animal Impossible and the second season of Spy in the Wild, both debuting mid-October exclusively on BBC Earth in Canada.
Animal Impossible (10 episodes x 60 minutes) will premiere on BBC Earth on Wednesday, October 14 at 8 p.m. The series follows hosts Tim Warwood and Adam Gendle (pictured) as they travel to great lengths to put incredible animal facts and myths to the test to prove if they are true. The duo quiz experts and conduct audacious stunts — including a nerve-wracking swim with a great white shark — to get answers. Along the way they discover a whole host of strange and remarkable truths about the animal kingdom.
Season two of Spy in the Wild (4×60), narrated by Emmy and BAFTA Award winner David Tennant, premieres on BBC Earth on Sunday, October 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Each episode explores a different climatic region of the world and features a menagerie of ultra-realistic animatronic “spy creatures” and extraordinary animal subjects. From a life-sized animatronic spy polar bear to a bat, gorilla, king penguin and crocodile, each spy creature looks like the animals they film and behaves like them, too. They discover how the animals have adapted their behaviour to not only cope, but often flourish, wherever they live. The new season features more than 50 animatronic spies across 30 different countries.
