TORONTO – AMI-tv is readying five informative and inspiring original documentaries that will air every Friday night, all summer long.

Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) said that the docs celebrate Canada's unique communities and the people who live in them, as well as showcase the talent in AMI's own local bureaus, including community reporters Grant Hardy, Shelby Travers, Alex Smyth, Laura Bain and Anthony McLachlan.

In keeping with AMI's mandate of making accessible media for all Canadians, these documentaries utilize Integrated Described Video (IDV), making them accessible to individuals who are blind or partially sighted.

The lineup includes:

Have Cane, Will Travel (Friday, July 27, 8:00 PM ET);

Postcards from Newfoundland and Labrador (Friday, August 3, 8 p.m. ET);

AMI Goes to Camp (Friday, August 10, 7:30 PM ET);

My 10-Year-Old Brain (Friday, August 17, 8:00 PM ET); and

Shifting Gears: Autonomous Vehicles (Friday, August 31, 8:00 PM ET).

AMI-tv is the world's first television network to broadcast all programs with open format described video.  The network is available in more than eight million Canadian homes as part of the basic digital programming package with most TV service providers.
