TORONTO – Accessible Media Inc. (AMI)’s coverage of the 103rd Grey Cup last Sunday garnered more than 24,000 viewers per minute, making it AMI-tv’s highest ranking Live Described event to date.
This marked the second consecutive year that AMI partnered with TSN and the CFL to broadcast the Grey Cup with live described video, in order to make the game accessible to Canadians who are blind or partially sighted.
“We are incredibly pleased with the results of our 2015 Grey Cup broadcast,” said Brian Perdue, AMI's director of programming, in the news release. “From 6 PM to 10:30 PM we did an AMA 2+ of 24.6, peaking between 8 PM and 8:30 PM at 36.2. These are fantastic numbers for AMI-tv. Our previous high for a live event was a Toronto Blue Jays vs. Los Angeles Dodgers game in July, 2013 where we secured a 16.1.”
Other live events broadcast on AMI-tv include the Royal Wedding in 2011, LPGA events, the last two Federal Elections results and the Santa Claus Parade.
