TORONTO – Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) is readying production for a new cooking show that will unite blind and sighted chefs plus include accessibility tips and tools for independence in the kitchen.
Produced by AMI in conjunction with Varner Productions, Four Senses will feature two stars from the reality cooking show world – MasterChef USA winner Christine Ha and Carl Heindrich, winner of Top Chef Canada 2012. Each 30-minute show will feature a cooking segment as well as interviews with celebrity guests and chefs including Anna Olson and Christine Cushing, and discussions related to eye disease.
“Our mandate at AMI is to ensure that our programming is accessible to our core audience”, said director of programming Brian Perdue, in the news release. “All of our programming airs with described video and closed captioning, however, what is particularly interesting about Four Senses is that we will be embedding all of the description right into the show as we shoot, eliminating the need to add description in post-production. This truly is an innovative approach to accessibility that AMI has been honing over the last number of years with some of our other original programming.”
Four Senses is scheduled to begin production next week and will air on AMI beginning in January, 2014.
