HALIFAX – Eastern viewers will see a familiar face on September 3rd when Alyse Hand joins Global News Halifax and Global News New Brunswick as its new co-host of local morning news program Global News Morning.
Hand (right) has worked in local television in the region for more than a decade, first with Eastlink’s community TV and then CTV News Halifax. Hand will join longtime Global News Morning stalwart Paul Brothers, who has been with the show since its launch in January 2013. Global News Morning with Paul Brothers and Alyse Hand debuts Tuesday, September 3.
Born and raised in Bedford, Nova Scotia, Hand studied at Dalhousie University and Acadia University and graduated from Nova Scotia Community College’s broadcast journalism program. She briefly stepped away from television in late 2018 to take on a public relations role at National PR.
“I’m thrilled to return to morning television and to join the Global News team,” said Hand in the press release. “I take great pride in sharing the stories that come out of our region, and I value the opportunity to connect with viewers and the community.”
