Allstream extends Primus deal through 2011


TORONTO – Allstream has extended its $34 million wholesale agreement with Primus Telecommunications Canada Inc. for another year.

The contract includes a full suite of voice and data connectivity services that include local access to voice services, toll free services, Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS), private lines, Switched Ethernet and Wavelength Solutions.

"This contract extension speaks not only to our strong relationship with Primus Canada, but to the continued long-term demand for diverse telecommunications services in Canada as we continue to pursue our strategy of growing our market share," said Allstream president Dean Prevost, in a statement. "Allstream continues to act as a driving force in ensuring competition through our services and we are pleased to provide Primus Canada with a complete suite of our top telecommunications solutions."

The wholesale agreement between the two companies began in 2001.
