Allstream brings multicast technology to its MPLS network

TORONTO – Allstream has added multicast technology to its national Multiprotocol Label Switching ("MPLS") network, allowing customers access to features such as videoconferencing and distance learning.Multicast is a bandwidth-conserving technology that reduces traffic by simultaneously delivering a single stream of information to thousands of users.
