TORONTO – Alliance Atlantis has hired David Lazzarato as its new executive vice-president and chief financial officer. He starts May 30th.
Lazzarato replaces Judson Martin who, it was announced earlier this month, is leaving the company due to health reasons.
"David’s extensive experience will be invaluable to us as we continue to grow our business," said Michael MacMillan, chairman and CEO of Alliance Atlantis in a statement. "He is also recognized for his strategic vision and judgment and his addition to the senior management team builds on our efforts to take a disciplined approach when making and executing critical strategic decisions."
Lazzarato was executive vice-president and CFO for Allstream (previously AT&T Canada). While with Allstream, he played a significant leadership role in the operational and financial restructuring of the company and its subsequent sale to Manitoba Telecom, says the release. Previously, Lazzarato held executive management positions with Bell Mobility and CAE Electronics.
In addition, he also serves as a Board member for the Trillium Health Centre Foundation and was the Telecom Chair for the United Way’s 2004 Greater Toronto Area Campaign.
"I would like to thank Jud for his contributions over the past six years as an integral member of the senior management team at Alliance Atlantis," added MacMillan. "The company has benefited greatly from Jud’s expertise and I want to wish him all the best for an enjoyable and healthy future."
