SAINT JOHN – Aliant announced today that its High-Speed Ultra service now boasts speeds up to three times faster than the company’s regular high speed digital subscriber line service.
"Aliant High-Speed Ultra delivers one of the fastest Internet speeds (DSL) in Canada," said Heather Tulk, vice-president, broadband and marketing, in a release.
The enhanced broadband service is aimed at customers who are creating a home computer network with two or more PCs or need enhanced speed for downloading files, media-on-demand applications (i.e. music, news) or gaming. The faster speeds are available across Aliant’s service area in Atlantic Canada.
Access speeds have increased – from 3 Mbps to up to 5 Mbps downstream (i.e. downloading files) – while the same fast upstream (i.e. uploading files) rate remains at 640 Kbps. Retail prices have not changed.
