Advanced troubleshooting skills from SCTE Ontario

TORONTO – The theme of the first 2006 meeting of the Ontario chapter is a long one but a good one.

"Troubleshooting by Mapping Cable’s Advanced Services to the Open System Interconnect OSI Model,” is the theme and this session will present a new perspective in deciphering advanced cable services and applications based on the OSI model.

Attendees will gain a better understanding of what OSI layers cable technicians can readily access and those levels they will be directly responsible for. The benefit of this program will be improved troubleshooting skills and a reduction in the number of network outages.

The speakers include:
* Open System Interconnect (OSI) Model Tutorial, Ian Oliver, IBI Group
* DOCSIS, Rob McCann, ClearCable
* PacketCable and PacketCable MultiMedia, Nortel [Speaker to be Confirmed]
* VOD, Chris Skarica, Broadbus
* Operational Support Systems (OSS), Steve Ladouceur, Rogers
