ACTRA names new national director for public policy

TORONTO - Joanne Deer will take over as ACTRA’s new national director, public policy and communications on September 8, 2008. Deer is a seasoned media and communications specialist and will oversee all aspects of ACTRA National’s public policy and communications initiatives. For the past two years, Deer served as the director of communications for Canada's New Democratic Party. Her previous communications appointments include ACTRA National’s public relations officer and communications officer at the Writers Guild of Canada.
