TORONTO – Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA) has named Lisa Blanchette as its new public policy and communications director.
Blanchette (pictured) previously worked for ACTRA Toronto as an organizer from June 2012 to June 2015 and, most recently, as a government relations specialist. She also served as chief of staff for the Minister of Culture and Tourism for the province of Alberta from June 2015 to January 2018.
She replaces Elliott Anderson who has taken on a new government sector role.
“We are happy to welcome Lisa Blanchette as our new Director of Public Policy and Communications,” said ACTRA National executive director Stephen Waddell, in Monday’s announcement. “Lisa’s background in policy and communications within the film and television industry and government make her a welcome addition to ACTRA’s team.”
ACTRA represents the interests of over 25,000 professional performers working in the English-language recorded media in Canada.
