
OTTAWA – Canadian Network Operators Consortium Inc. (CNOC) elected Michael Garbe as its incoming chairman and CEO at their recent 2016 annual member’s meeting.
Garbe (pictured) is the founder and CEO of Accelerated Communication Inc. and is also the former vice-chairman of CNOC. CNOC founding chairman Bill Sandiford and Kevin Blumberg are continuing as board members with the organization but in different capacities, reads the announcement.
“CNOC’s mission is to be a strong voice for innovative independent telecommunication service providers in Canada”, said Garbe, in a statement. “I look forward to working with my fellow Board members to continue that pursuit.”
Distributel CEO Matt Stein will become vice-chairman of the board and CNOC’s national spokesperson, after serving as its secretary for several years. The CNOC membership also elected Jill Schatz to the board as secretary. Schatz was most recently general counsel/VP legal and regulatory at Primus Telecommunications/Primus Management.
Other members of the 2016 board of directors include:
– Paul Andersen, president of eGATE Networks Inc., as treasurer;
– Marc Gaudrault, CEO of TekSavvy Solutions Inc.;
– Gilles Pichette, president and CEO of B2B2C.ca; and
– Peter Rocca, president and CEO of Start Communications.
The Canadian Networks Operators Consortium (CNOC) is composed of over 35 competitive telecommunications services providers that own or operate wireline and/or wireless networks operating in many regions of Canada.
