Access Show n Shine raises over $20,000REGINA – Despite a rainy day, over 1,000 spectators came to admire 145 classic vehicles at the 13th annual Access Communications Labour Day Show n Shine. The event, held at Access Communications Community Park in Regina, raised $20,184 for the Regina Food Bank.
“As a community-owned co-operative, we're proud to support local families by fighting hunger,” said Jim Deane, CEO of the company in the press release. “The whole neighbourhood was full of exhibitors and spectators – what an amazing day.”
Fourty-one percent of those served by the Regina Food Bank are children, added the Access release. During the summer, much of the food support that kids rely on is not available, and the demand on the Food Bank increases. “This has been a busy summer at the Food Bank and demand only increases in the fall” said John Bailey, CEO, Regina Food Bank. “The Show N Shine happens at a critical time for us and we are extremely grateful to Access and all the community partners who made it happen. The generosity and support from our business partners and the people of Regina make our work possible.”
