REGINA – Access Communications has collected over 18 tons of food with its annual Food for Friends food drive in support of the Regina & District Food Bank.
The success of the event is shared with partners 94.5 Jack FM, who broadcast live for 12 hours yesterday from Access main office in Regina, and Regina’s Sobey’s stores who sold and collected food hampers in support of the one day radiothon.
"We are completely humbled by the efforts of the day and the incredible support shown by Access, Jack FM and of course, Sobey’s. Because of their combined contribution, the Regina & District Food Bank will be able to help feed a lot more families at this very critical time of year,” said Regina & District Food Bank’s operations director, Steve Compton.
"Once again the people of Regina have amazed us with their generosity," said Tasha Lupanko, Access’ communications officer. "As a co-operative, we understand and value the support of the communities we serve and we’re overwhelmed by the support shown by the Regina community at yesterday’s event."
This is the fourth, and most successful year of the annual food drive which has raised over fifty tons of food in support of the Regina & District Food Bank since the event began.
