REGINA – Access Communications has thrown its support behind Connecting Families, the Feds’ initiative to help provide low cost Internet service to eligible Canadian households.
The company said this week that it is offering subsidized Internet service to hundreds of low-income families in Saskatchewan, complete with unlimited data usage, and no fees for equipment or installation.
“Today, access to residential Internet is essential to economic, social, and educational opportunity, yet many Saskatchewan families make significant trade-offs in order to pay for it,” said Access’ communications manager Tracey Mucha, in the news release. “We are proud to be involved in Innovation, Science and Economic Development’s (ISED) Connecting Families initiative to increase Internet affordability for low-income Canadians.”
Connecting Families, which officially launched last November, enables eligible Canadian families to access high speed Internet service packages for $10 per month from participating Internet service providers.
