REGINA — Access Communications Co-operative announced last week its 15th Annual Labour Day Show N Shine event helped raise an estimated $46,300 for the Regina Food Bank.
The fundraising event is hosted each year by Access Communications along with the Collectors Car Club of Saskatchewan and title sponsor CAA Saskatchewan. The event brings together community members, businesses and car enthusiasts “to further the collectible car hobby and raise money towards fighting hunger in Regina,” a press release explains.
This year’s show drew more than 5,000 spectators and over 500 vehicles, according to the release.
Since its inception in 2007, the event has helped raise almost $300,000 for the Regina Food Bank, the release says.
“We couldn’t ask for a more perfect day for our biggest show yet,” said Jim Deane, CEO of Access Communications, in the release. “With the demand for Regina Food Bank services higher than ever, we’re grateful to the community for showing up and helping us make a difference. The show is a labour of love, and we’re unbelievably grateful for the volunteers, sponsors, and car enthusiasts who make it all possible.”
