REGINA – Access Communications Co-operative last week announced it has upgraded 17 more Saskatchewan communities to gigabit internet speeds.
The communities benefitting from the upgraded speeds include Carlyle, Carnduff, Carrot River, Dalmeny, Fort Qu’Appelle, Gull Lake, Langham, Macklin, Moosomin, Rosetown, Rouleau, Shaunavon, Spiritwood, Watrous, Whitewood, Wilkie and Wynyard. The upgraded service means customers in these communities have access to faster speeds of up to 940 Mbps, according to an Access Communications press release.
In addition, Access Communications said it has launched its full slate of services, including 1 Gig internet, NexTV Stream, phone service and security monitoring services, to 10 more communities including Birch Hills, Cochin, Dundurn, Hague, Imperial, Nokomis, Osler, Simpson, Strasbourg and Young.
“This brings the total number of Saskatchewan communities with urban like internet services to over 100, and there’s more to come,” reads the press release.
“As a 100 percent Saskatchewan-owned, not-for-profit co-operative, core to our values is connecting Saskatchewan with fast, reliable internet,” Carmela Haines, president and CEO of Access Communications, said in the release. “We’re working hard to bring 1 Gig internet speeds to more and more communities in the province. We know how important it is to the quality of life for everyone.”
Access Communications says it continues to invest in its rural internet tower network as well, “bringing faster speeds to over 110 towers in rural locations,” says the release, adding the co-operative is continuing to increase speeds where possible across its rural network.
