Access Communications Co-operative on Monday announced via press release the results of its fiscal 2025 year and the election of its new board chair and new board members.
Access reported “a solid financial performance for the year,” investing more than $21 million in capital spending. The Regina-based organization said it also invested nearly $2.6 million in its AccessNow TV and AccessNow Radio community programming, powered by more than 9,500 volunteer hours.
As a not-for-profit, community-owned co-operative, Access reinvests 100 per cent of its earnings into the communities and rural areas it serves.
The Access board of directors has elected Leslie Ciz as chair of the board for 2026. Ciz served as vice chair on the previous board.
“Access exists to do more than deliver connectivity. We exist to strengthen the communities we serve,” Ciz said in a statement. “As a Saskatchewan-owned co-operative, we take a long-term view, investing in reliable infrastructure, local people, and community initiatives so the benefits of connection stay close to home. That approach matters in a province as diverse as Saskatchewan, and it’s why Access continues to play an important role in helping communities, businesses, and families thrive today and into the future.”
Two board directors were re-elected for three-year terms, including Collin Pullar from Regina, president of the Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association, and Deborah Charles from La Ronge, CEO of the Missinipi Broadcasting Corporation.
In addition, two new directors were elected to the board, including Lisa McIntyre from Regina, owner and operator of The Optical Shoppe, and Corvyn Neufeld from Yorkton, advisor to the chief people and culture officer at Conexus Credit Union.
