REGINA – Access Communications announced today it will soon offer a total of 32 high definition channels to its customers in Regina.
Sixteen additional HD channels will be launched February 1, 2007 with a free preview, two new HD pay per view channels will be available soon as well while HDNet, a popular U.S. based all-HD service and The Score HD will also be launched during the preview period bringing the total number of HD services available in Regina and area to 32.
Access was perhaps feeling a little pressure on HD since its primary competitor SaskTel, which has over 50,000 MAX customers throughout the province, launched 27 HD channels last October.
“This is another example of our customer’s requests leading the charge,” says Rick Fraser, vice-president, marketing for Access. “We have had many requests from our customers for more high definition channels, and with the recent upgrades to our infrastructure, we are now able to fulfill those requests and provide our customers with the largest and most comprehensive HD lineup available in the market.”
“We have a proven technology. Cable’s huge broadband capacity offers the best high definition signal; it is the least compressed which gives the best HD picture quality available. Add to that our first class digital PVR box and you have a winning combination when it comes to viewing, rewinding and recording HD programs.”
The new channels will be available to Access’ HD customers on a free preview beginning February 1st and running through until April 30, 2007.
