
MONTREAL – Accedian Networks has named former Ciena exec Martin Labelle as vice-president of Research and Development.
The network performance assurance provider said Monday that Labelle (pictured) will lead technology and new product development by its R&D teams in Montreal, Sweden, and Vietnam.
"As our company continues to expand internationally and win more network operators and enterprise customers, Martin will play a key role in driving the development of new products and solutions, and positioning Accedian as an innovator and an intellectual property leader”, said CEO Patrick Ostiguy, in the announcement. “Martin's R&D expertise and proven track record in developing and bringing to market ground-breaking and forward-thinking software defined networking solutions makes him an excellent addition to the Accedian leadership team."
Prior to joining Accedian, Labelle was VP of software engineering at Ciena, where he led all product development initiatives in the areas of software-defined networking (SDN), network and service management, network planning, and analytics. Prior to that, he VP of engineering and operations at CENX, plus held senior engineering roles with AMDOCS, Bridgewater Systems, Nakina Systems, Ceyba, Visual Networks and Newbridge Networks.
