DALLAS – Local singles are making even more personal use of Comcast’s on demand platform.
The company, the continent’s largest MSO, is hosting a Dating On Demand viewing party this Thursday, February 9th in Dallas. The event will show videos from Dating On Demand, and offer local singles a way to make their own video. The event will also provide would-be singers a chance to test out Karaoke On Demand in front of a live audience. And one lucky singer could wind up in a Comcast TV segment later in the year.
Both Dating On Demand and Karaoke On Demand "have proven wildly popular and received some amazing interest in their short lifespan," says the company.
After a year’s service Dating On Demand has been requested by Comcast customers nearly 470,000 times in the Dallas area, and more than 21 million times by Comcast customers nationwide. Karaoke On Demand is even more popular. Comcast customers requested Karaoke songs more than six million times since its October debut — without any pre-launch promotion or marketing.
The event will benefit the American Heart Association. A suggested donation from singles videotaping Dating On Demand profiles will go to support the American Heart Association’s efforts to fight heart disease.
Dating On Demand and Karaoke On Demand are available to digital cable customers at no additional cost.
