A-Channel hires Madani as sports anchor

OTTAWA – A-Channel Ottawa this week tabbed Rogers Television host Arash Madani as its new sports anchor.

For the past two years, Madani (left, from the Rogers Television web site) has been the Ottawa Renegade’s director of media and communications and the host of Renegades Vibe on Rogers.

A native of Truro, Nova Scotia, Madani began his career writing for the Daily News before moving to Lennoxville, Quebec. Madani has also served as a sports reporter for the Sherbrooke Record, McGill University and The Team 990 in Montreal.

“After working so closely with the Ottawa Renegades I have an inside perspective on the local pro sports scene,” says Madani. “I am thrilled to now be given the opportunity to cover local amateur sports as well.”

Madani begins work with A-Channel in December.

A-Channel (formerly The New RO) is a division of CHUM Limited, one of Canada’s leading media companies and content providers which owns and operates radio stations, local television stations, specialty channels and internet properties.
