Corus Entertainment announced Wednesday former Chopped Canada host Brad Smith is joining Morgan Hoffman as co-host of Global TV’s previously announced weekday afternoon lifestyle program, TMS2, premiering Sept. 8 at 1 p.m. ET/PT and 2 p.m. AT.
The one-hour TMS2 is an extension of Global’s weekday morning program, The Morning Show, hosted by Carolyn MacKenzie and Jeff McArthur.
Canadian TV personality Brittnee Blair (ET Canada, Big Brother Canada) is also joining the team as entertainment reporter across The Morning Show, TMS2 and Global News.
“With the launch of TMS2, we are excited to build on a brand that Canadians have come to know, love and trust through Carolyn and Jeff,” Jordan Schwartz, head of morning programming at Corus, said in a press release. “This new show, featuring award-winning and trusted hosts like Morgan, Brad, and entertainment expertise from Brittnee, builds upon the connection audiences already have with The Morning Show, extending that relationship into the afternoon with fresh, engaging content. TMS2 also creates new opportunities for viewers to connect with major brands through interactive and shoppable experiences, while offering advertisers innovative ways to engage audiences through seamless integrations.”
Corus said TMS2 will deliver expert-driven segments across home, fashion, food and wellness, along with A-list celebrity access.
“Viewers can expect interviews with celebrities including Oscar winners Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman in the first week, and coveted exclusives with Mark Wahlberg, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan,” Corus said in its press release. “This month TMS2 and The Morning Show team also hit the ground running with full coverage from The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), plus Brittnee Blair heads to Paris for an exclusive event featuring a global music superstar.”
Corus announced family safety and location sharing app Life360 is TMS2’s official launch partner and will be featured throughout launch week and beyond with a back-to-school focus. Additional brand integrations will be featured throughout the year, Corus said.
In addition to airing on Global TV, TMS2 will broadcast live on YouTube and stream on StackTV. The show will also soon be available as a daily podcast through Corus’s podcast network, Curiouscast.
TMS2’s executive producer is Morley Nirenberg and the show’s supervising producer is Sandy Chronopoulos. The program is produced in association with WPP Media Motion Entertainment.
