TVO Media Education Group (TVO) announced Tuesday the appointment of Vanessa Case as the Ontario public broadcaster’s new vice president of media, effective immediately.
Case reports to CEO Pary Bell and serves as a member of TVO’s executive leadership team. She will have executive responsibility for TVO’s programming and editorial strategy, with accountability for the direction, performance and stewardship of TVO’s content portfolio across broadcast and digital ecosystems, TVO said in a press release announcing her hiring.
As vice president of media, Case “will provide ownership and leadership for the development, commissioning, acquisition, and performance of programming spanning children’s content, documentaries, podcasts, and current affairs,” TVO’s press release said.
“As TVO continues to evolve as a digital-first learning and media organization, strong stewardship of our programming and editorial portfolio remains essential to our public mandate and audience trust,” TVO CEO Pary Bell said in the press release. “Ms. Case brings extensive experience across streaming, broadcast, and digital platforms, along with a strong background in content strategy and execution. Her leadership will support TVO’s continued focus on high-quality programming that advances our educational mission.”
With more than 25 years of experience as a media executive, Case most recently served as vice president of content for Paramount+ and Pluto TV in Canada, where “she oversaw third-party acquisitions, original content strategy and innovative windowing approaches designed to maximize audience reach and platform growth,” TVO’s press release said.
Her previous experience has included roles as Vice Media Canada’s senior vice president and global head of unscripted production, Blue Ant Media’s executive vice president of content, Shaw Media’s senior director of speciality programming and scheduling, Canwest Media’s vice president of content for Slice and TVTropolis, as well as 14 years at Alliance Atlantis Broadcasting in various roles including vice president of programming for HGTV Canada and vice president of content for Slice and National Geographic Channel.
Case currently serves on the WIFT+ Toronto board of directors and has sat on the Access Canada and Banff World Media Festival advisory boards. She was named to The Hollywood Reporter 2025 Power List for Women in Canadian Entertainment.
Case’s TVO appointment follows TVO’s hiring of Jeremy Dupuis as vice president of growth in April.
