Quebecor’s Videotron announced Wednesday the expansion of its Helix technology to Drummondville, Magog, Rimouski and Saint-Hyacinthe, making its internet and TV services available to nearly 93,000 additional Quebec households.
“Videotron is very pleased to welcome residents of Drummondville, Magog, Rimouski and Saint-Hyacinthe to the Helix family,” said Pierre Karl Péladeau, president and CEO of Quebecor, in a press release. “This expansion of our Internet and television services furthers our mission of fostering healthy, vigorous competition that directly benefits consumers.”
The new Helix-powered services join Videotron’s wireless services, which were already available in the four towns.
This follows Videotron’s recently announced expansion of its Helix service to Trois-Rivières, Huntingdon and Salaberry-de-Valleyfield.
Videotron said its home-grown Helix platform delivers unlimited, high-performance internet access with the option of adding a package of the best TV and online content. The technology offers features such as voice-activated remote control, and it also supports control and management of connected home devices, providing a complete smart home solution, Videotron said.
