
Blue Ant Media announced Wednesday the appointments of Dervla Kelly as chief marketing and communications officer and Surani Adamesco as chief technology officer.
Their appointments follow the completion of the company’s reverse takeover transaction and listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
“Now as a public company, we’re embarking on an ambitious growth strategy to strengthen our position as an international streamer, production studio, and rights-management leader,” Jamie Schouela, chief operating officer of Blue Ant Media, said in a press release. “Dervla and Surani bring exceptional expertise and strategic vision in their respective areas. Their leadership will be key as we scale operations, drive innovation, and deliver long-term value for our shareholders.”
Kelly previously led marketing and digital at Corus Entertainment, overseeing a portfolio of broadcast, streaming, distribution and digital brands including creator agency Kin Community and so.da, Corus’s social-first agency serving clients such as Amazon, RBC and PlutoTV. Prior to that, Kelly held senior leadership roles at Shaw Media, Canwest, Husky Injection Molding Systems and Celestica.
In her new role as chief marketing and communications officer at Blue Ant Media, Kelly will lead the company’s corporate, consumer and trade marketing strategy, “ensuring a cohesive and impactful global brand presence,” Blue Ant’s press release said. She will also oversee the communications and creative services teams, “advancing innovation and AI-driven initiatives to enhance marketing performance and support international growth,” the release added.
Adamesco joins Blue Ant Media from SiriusXM Canada, where she most recently served as senior vice president of information technology, leading enterprise modernization initiatives, enhancing cybersecurity strategies and implementing innovative cloud platforms, according to the release. She brings more than 25 years of experience in media, telecommunications and IT, including 17 years in various senior management roles at SiriusXM, as well as stints as project manager for Primus and Rogers.
In her position as Blue Ant Media’s chief technology officer, Adamesco will lead the company’s IT, media services and channel playout teams, “ensuring the Company leverages advanced systems, automation tools, and efficient workflows to deliver world-class technical distribution for both its Canadian and international channels,” the release said.
Kelly and Adamesco will join the management team and serve as officers of Blue Ant Media.
