AMI-audio announces 2024-25 lineup of new and returning programs and podcasts


Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) on Tuesday announced its AMI-audio lineup for the 2024-25 broadcast season, which includes a new program, AMI Today, plus returning favourites and audio and video podcasts.

“I’m very excited about the upcoming year on AMI-audio,” Andy Frank, manager of AMI-audio, said in a press release. “AMI Today will introduce new and existing listeners to the incredible content we offer every day.”

Airing Monday to Friday at 11 a.m. ET, AMI Today is hosted by Jacob Shymanski (AMI Audiobook Review) and promotes literacy, tech knowledge and advocacy through lively conversations, digging into audiobooks and debuting the latest AMI video podcasts. The program is also available as an audio podcast and video podcast on YouTube.

Programming returning to AMI-audio includes the hit daily program Double Tap, airing at 12 p.m. ET, which features discussions led by hosts Steven Scott and Shaun Preece on news, reviews and technology stories of interest to people who are members of the blind, partially sighted and disability community. It also is available as an audio podcast and video podcast on YouTube.

Other returning favourites include The Globe and Mail Today (airing Monday to Friday at 8 a.m. ET), Maclean’s Magazine (Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9 a.m. ET), The Washington Post This Week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 9 a.m. ET), The Guardian Daily (Monday to Friday at 10 a.m. ET), My Life in Books with Red Széll (Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1 p.m. ET), Voices of The Walrus (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. ET), Kelly and Ramya (Monday to Friday at 2 p.m. ET), AMI Audiobook Review (Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m. ET), and Outdoors with Lawrence Gunther (Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET).

Several established podcasts returning to AMI-audio are available with video on YouTube, including Low Vision MomentsThe Pulse and Tripping on Air.

In addition to the linear AMI-audio channel, AMI-audio programming can be streamed anytime on AMI+.
