Global adds crime drama Hidden Assets to summer lineup


Corus Entertainment’s Global announced Tuesday season one of the Irish/Canadian/Belgian crime drama Hidden Assets will debut Wednesday, June 5 at 9 p.m. ET on Global and Corus’s multi-channel streaming service StackTV.

“When evidence from a raid links a small-time drug dealer to a series of bombings in Belgium, Irish detective Emer Berry (Angeline Ball) heads to Antwerp, where she’s confronted by Christian de Jong (Wouter Hendrickx) of the anti-terrorism squad. Together, they begin to untangle an international conspiracy involving drugs, terrorism, and corrupt business and political leaders,” reads a synopsis in a Corus press release.

Written by Peter McKenna and Morna Regan, Hidden Assets is directed by Emmy-nominated Thaddeus O’Sullivan and Belgian director Kadir Balci. Co-funded by the European Union, the series is co-produced by Ireland’s Saffron Moon, Canada’s Facet4 Media and Belgium’s Potemkino for RTÉ, Super Channel and Acorn TV, and is distributed in Canada by TVA Group subsidiary Incendo.

Global also announced the 26th season of Big Brother will join the channel’s summer lineup, kicking off in a two-night premiere on Wednesday, July 17 and Thursday, July 18 at 9 p.m. ET. Following its premiere, the series hosted by Julie Chen Moonves will air Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
