Yoann Sauvageau named as director of TVA Films


Quebecor Content’s senior director of acquisitions and Quebec cinema, Louis Pearson, announced Wednesday the appointment of Yoann Sauvageau as director of TVA Films, a division of TVA Group.

“I am delighted to welcome Yoann to the team and I’m confident that he’s the right person to pursue TVA Films’ business strategy, drive its growth and make it one of Quebec’s leading film distributors,” Pearson said in a press release. “His experience, knowledge of the industry and its players, deep expertise and outstanding track record will make him a key asset to our team.”

“It is an honour and a privilege to join the TVA Films team, with whom I share a deep love of Quebec cinema and its creators,” said Sauvageau, who will oversee all of TVA Films’ activities. “I look forward to the opportunity to work together to promote films from Quebec and abroad.”

Sauvageau previously worked in movie distribution with Alliance Films and Sony Pictures before joining Entertainment One (eOne) in 2012 as director of theatrical sales. In that role, he led the theatrical sales team in Quebec and released films such as The Hunger GamesLa La LandBon Cop Bad Cop 2 and John Wick. In 2019, his role at eOne was extended nationwide when he was promoted to the position of vice-president of theatrical sales, working with film exhibitors across Canada.

Most recently, Sauvageau was vice-president of sales at Maison 4:3 (Maison4tiers), a role he moved to in 2022.

Based in Montreal, TVA Films acquires films for distribution on a variety of platforms, including theatrical, television, video-on-demand, DVD and digital. Its catalogue offers more than 1,000 titles including Quebec and foreign films, TV series, comedy shows and documentaries.
