Gusto TV announces latest production slate

Ottawa-based food channel Gusto TV announced Monday it has greenlit production on 10 new and returning series, totalling 50 hours of new production for its winter 2023/2024 slate.

Set to premiere later in 2024, Gusto TV Studios Presents is “an anthology consisting of separate but related shows in which various hosts showcase their talent, passion, and creativity through different applications of culinary, beauty, and wellness techniques,” explains a press release.

The upcoming Gusto TV Studios Presents shows include some of the new greenlights, including: Bring on the Karbs (6 x 60 minutes), hosted by husband-and-wife chefs Josh and Erika Karbelnik; Eva’s Bee (8 x 30’), in which host Eva Bee each episode uses a different food starting with “B” to create wholesome dishes; and Inside & Out (8 x 30’), which invites viewers to embark “on a whimsical wellness journey of yoga, nutrition escapades, DIY health and beauty wizardry, and mystical tarot readings, all guided by four hosts,” the release says.

Other new shows to be featured in the anthology include: Mucho Machado (8 x 30’), in which chef Natalia Machado prepares dishes in real-time, with four episodes in English and four in Spanish; The Lineup: Cheeseburgers of the World, Food News, Corktales (8 x 30’), which features cheeseburger creations from around the globe, as well as captivating bar tales and food-centric happenings; and Zach Kinda Cooks (8 x 30’), “an off-beat, slow-paced food show” where ex-Gusto writer Zach, described as a “lazy and curmudgeonly chef” cooks over-the-top comfort food.

The remaining greenlit shows announced Monday include season three of Blitz! (10 x 60’), the new Vanessa Gianfrancesco-hosted show Feed My Soul…V! (14 x 30’), and The Wizard of Whatever (14 x 30’), in which host Kyle Crawford “dazzles with 5-star dishes while holding forth on pop culture, fashion, lifestyle, travel and music,” featuring the return of three on-screen AI-generated characters, the release says.

“At the Gusto Studios, we’re always working on our next show as 100% of the content on our channel is produced in-house,” Chris Knight, president and CEO of Gusto Worldwide Media, said in the release. “I’m really excited about these new shows, they’re going to make an outstanding addition to our 2024 lineup.”
