CBC announced Monday the launch of seven new podcasts from CBC News, spotlighting diverse local communities from Vancouver Island to P.E.I. and answering listeners’ questions from across Canada.
“Audiences are invited to join CBC journalists and hosts on an adventure each week to explore and learn something new and meaningful about the place they call home,” reads a CBC press release.
Organized into two formats, the local podcasts include:
- This is Vancouver Island hosted by Kathryn Marlow
- This is Calgary hosted by Anis Heydari
- This is Edmonton hosted by Clare Bonnyman
- This is Ottawa hosted by Robyn Bresnahan
- Good Question Saskatchewan hosted by Leisha Grebinski
- Good Question Montreal hosted by Ainslie MacLellan
- Good Question P.E.I. hosted by Nicola MacLeod
The first episode of each of the seven local podcasts are available now on CBC Listen or wherever you get your podcasts, with new episodes released weekly.
“These new offerings in the podcast space will expand our regional programming and bring more local conversations to wider audiences across the country,” Brodie Fenlon, general manager and editor in chief of CBC News, said in the release. “As the national public broadcaster, we strive to connect listeners to Canada and to each other with compelling content that reflects their communities, lived experiences and diverse perspectives.”
CBC says additional local CBC News podcasts will be announced soon.
