Telus introduces $35/mo. Mobility for Good plan with 10 GB of 5G+ data

Telus announced Tuesday it has expanded its Mobility for Good program for low-income seniors and youth emerging from foster care with the launch of a new rate plan, offering 10 GB of 5G+ data for $35 per month.

“This means youth aging out of care, low-income seniors and government-assisted refugees will have the option of choosing a $25/month plan with 3GB of data, or $35/month plan with 10GB data,” says a Telus announcement.

“This new rate plan is another way TELUS is leading with purpose and helping ensure everyone has access to world-leading technology through TELUS’ Connecting for Good programs,” the company’s statement says.

Telus isn’t the only Canadian wireless provider offering low-cost mobile plans through special programs that support low-income Canadians.

In November, Rogers launched its new $25/month Connected for Success 5G Mobile Plan, offering 3 GB of 5G data, available to eligible low-income Canadians, including people receiving provincial income support or disability benefits, seniors receiving the federal Guaranteed Income Supplement, rent-geared-to-income tenants of a non-profit housing partner organization, recipients of the federal Resettlement Assistance Program, and families receiving the maximum Canada Child Benefit through the Connecting Families program.

Rogers also announced in November clients of Calgary’s Fair Entry subsidy program are eligible for low-cost wireless, internet and TV services through the Rogers Connected for Success program.
