Kids’ and family broadcast network WildBrain Television announced last week it has greenlit production of season two of The Fabulous Show with Fay and Fluffy, a preschool series that fosters a love of reading and encourages inclusivity and empathy among children aged 3 to 6.
Created and produced by Lopii Productions, the new season of 26 brand-new episodes is scheduled to deliver in summer 2024, according to a press release.
“With their big, colourful wigs and dazzling fashion, dynamic drag duo Fay (JP Kane) and Fluffy (Kaleb Robertson) are on a mission to spread joy, be fabulous, and, of course, ‘read the house down’. Each episode of the show is jam-packed with books, laughter, puppet friends, guests and good times,” the release reads.
The series is produced with the financial assistance of Canada Media Fund’s Pilot Program for Racialized Communities, as well as the Shaw Rocket Fund. Sinking Ship Entertainment is the distributor for seasons one and two of the series.
The show’s first season, which premiered on WildBrain Television’s Family Jr channel in 2022, won the 2023 Shaw Rocket Fund Kids’ Choice Award.
“It’s wonderful to see Canadian kids and families fully embracing such a fun and positive series — especially one that teaches important lessons like inclusion and kindness,” Katie Wilson, WildBrain vice-president of channels and global acquisitions, said in the release. “Every episode of The Fabulous Show with Fay and Fluffy is bursting with joy and silliness, and we’re thrilled to bring another season for kids to love.”
Lopii Productions is currently casting for the new season, with production set to begin in Toronto in January 2024.
