WildBrain CPLG celebrates new Grinch deals in UK and Europe

LONDON – WildBrain’s U.K.-based brand licensing agency WildBrain CPLG announced Tuesday a number of deals for Dr. Seuss Enterprise’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas! across the U.K. and Europe.

WildBrain CPLG’s collaboration with Adidas has been renewed with three new Grinch-inspired shoe designs plus two junior versions joining the collection, following the success of last year’s launch of the Adidas Originals x The Grinch Forum Low shoe. A new Grinch shoe (plus junior version) will be available globally at Adidas stores and online. Two additional designs featuring characters Max and Cindy Lou will be released exclusively into Footlocker stores worldwide this December, alongside a junior version of the Max design as well as t-shirts and hoodies featuring the Grinch characters.

In addition, Primark has launched its largest ever How the Grinch Stole Christmas! collection globally. The retailer’s collection includes family pajamas, snuddies, Christmas jumpers, gift sets, health and beauty products, tree decorations, pet accessories, and confectionery from licensees including Brand Alliance, Brand International, Fashion UK, H&A, Modern Gourmet Foods, Fizz Creations, Roy Lowe and Character World.

As part of a deal secured by WildBrain CPLG, Primark stores in Manchester, Edinburgh and Birmingham in the U.K. are also featuring Grinch-themed café activations, with a menu featuring festive food.

In Germany, new Grinch licensees include: Sockswear for a How the Grinch Stole Christmas! socks advent calendar range for kids and women; United Labels for apparel, accessories and home items; and Tex-Ass for slippers launching this month.

In Italy, Sabor srl is set to launch Grinch-branded apparel and accessories in Calliope and Terranova stores, while retail chain Yamamay will feature a collection of Grinch pajamas and socks for men, women and kids in its 487 stores.

WildBrain CPLG has also signed several other renewal agreements with Grinch licensees including H&M, LPP, Brand Alliance, Park Agencies, H&A, Crème Dor, Dreamtex, Cribstar, Fashion UK, TJ Morris, RMS, Fizz Creations, Solent Brands, Cooneen & Misirli, Blues, Rubber Road and Aurora.

“Our long-standing relationship with Dr. Seuss Enterprises continues to delight Grinch fans, with retail partners and licensees across the UK and Europe looking to tap into this well-loved family-favourite IP,” John Taylor, WildBrain CPLG’s vice-president for Northern Europe, said in a press release.

“Seasonal licensing opportunities are becoming a staple of the calendar, with retailers coming on board in a significant way. With these new deals building on an already considerable presence for the brand, 2023 looks to be an even bigger and greener celebration. Happy Grinchmas!”
