CBC Gem and ICI TOU.TV debut new episodes of animated series Jeremy and Jazzy

TORONTO – Production company Vérité Films, in association with Jeremy Fisher Music and Hidden Pony Records, announced Tuesday CBC original animated kids’ series Jeremy and Jazzy is premiering new episodes today on CBC Gem in English and on Radio-Canada’s ICI TOU.TV platform in French.

The new episodes consist of 26 two-minute episodes and one 11-minute special. Starting Monday, Sept. 11, the episodes will air daily Monday through Saturday as part of CBC TV’s CBC Kids morning schedule and will begin airing on Radio-Canada on Sept. 18.

In addition, the episodes are being released today in the U.K. on Tiny Pop and will launch Sept. 8 on Kartoon Channel in the U.S.

The Jeremy and Jazzy YouTube channel is also marking a major milestone as it surpasses three million global views, according to a Vérité Films press release.

The series “about how feelings become songs and songs become stories” is based on the music of four-time Juno nominee Jeremy Fisher, who stars as Jeremy in the English-language series alongside award-winning artist Aiza Ntibarikure, who plays Jazzy in both the English and French versions of the show. Québec singer-songwriter Antoine Gratton plays Jeremy in the French series.

A new Jeremy and Jazzy album, “You Can Be Anything”, is scheduled to be released Sept. 8 via Hidden Pony Records and Universal Music Canada on all streaming services, the release says. The album will be released in English (featuring Fisher and Ntibarikure) and in French (featuring Ntibarikure and Gratton).

Furthermore, “Jeremy and Jazzy is proud to be back in the CBC Canadian Music Class Challenge, where music classes across the country can submit their own version of the song ‘Good Morning’ for a chance to win musical instruments for their school or a chance to win a virtual classroom concert with Jeremy Fisher,” the release says.

More Jeremy and Jazzy albums will be released soon from Hidden Pony and Universal Music Canada, according to the release, and more Jeremy and Jazzy animated shorts and songs are in production and set to launch with CBC Kids in 2024, along with touring shows, books and educational content.

Jeremy and Jazzy brings joy to kids, families, and teachers through the power of music,” said Virginia Thompson, series co-creator and president of Vérité Films, in the release. “It’s been wonderful to see the brand grow over this year, and we’re so excited to share new songs and stories with kids everywhere.”

Animation for the Jeremy and Jazzy series is provided by Vérité Films and Smiley Guy Studios, with digital production by Vérité Films and Stitch Media. The series is produced with support from the CBC, the Canada Media Fund-Shaw Rocket Fund, Kids Digital Animated Series Program, Ontario Creates, FACTOR, and The Canadian Film or Television Tax Credit.
