HALIFAX – Halifax-based Purple Cow Internet announced last week it has expanded into Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island.
“We are excited to extend our services to Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland, bringing our cost-effective internet, TV, and phone solutions to these communities,” Bradley Farquhar, CEO of Purple Cow, said in a press release.
“Our goal is to drive down the overall cost of internet services and ensure that everyone has access to reliable and high-speed connectivity,” Farquhar added. “With our expansion, we have ample opportunity to make a positive impact in these new provinces.”
The telecom now operates in three provinces. The expansion “represents a significant step towards fulfilling the company’s commitment to offering affordable internet options across Canada,” the press release said.
The company uses Eastlink’s networks to deliver internet. Internet packages available from the telecom include 100 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload for $60 per month, 300/10 for $80, and 1 Gig and 15 Mbps upload for $100. Prices are up-to $10 cheaper per month if customers pay the full year upfront.
There’s also a one-time setup and shipping fee of $55.
The expansion comes after a number of wholesalers have been gobbled up by larger players over the past several months.
