Bell to bring pure fibre to 160,000 additional homes, businesses in London

LONDON, Ont. – Bell announced today it is expanding its pure fibre Internet service to reach an additional 160,000 homes and businesses in London, Ontario by 2026.

“Fully funded by Bell, this broadband expansion program will provide fast and high-capacity 100% fibre connections with Internet download speeds of up to 1.5 Gbps and access to leading Bell services such as Fibe TV,” a press release says.

This expansion is part of the company’s nearly $10-million, two-year capital expenditure program, which is in its second year, to accelerate its broadband fibre, 5G and rural network rollouts.

“We’re proud to bring our pure fibre connections and world-leading Internet and TV services to more households and businesses in London,” said Bruce Furlong, senior vice-president network, at Bell.

“Access to fast and reliable Internet connections is as important as ever and this expansion is part of our long-standing objective to connect Canadians in communities throughout Ontario and across our footprint.”
