MONTREAL — Quebecor’s advertising sales division Quebecor Expertise Media today announced TVA’s and TVA Group specialty channels’ diverse programming for the 2022-2023 season was presented to Quebecor advertisers and clients on June 2 during its virtual MULTI2022 event, along with a range of customized solutions and positioning opportunities for sponsors.
“Our industry is evolving fast,” said Patrick Jutras, senior vice-president and chief advertising revenue officer of Quebecor and TVA Group, in a press release. “Our recipe for success is based on a savvy mix of partnerships, content and technology. We’ve invested massively in those last two components to enhance our QUB profile and develop Quebec’s most impressive database. Our mission is clear: to become the province’s advertising targeting authority.”
Taking a “digital for all” approach, Quebecor Expertise Media’s new offerings for advertisers include the QUB profile, “a feature available on all Quebecor websites and apps, both on laptop and mobile, allowing users to create their personalized profile to enjoy content to the fullest,” the release explains. “This functionality will help build one of Quebec’s largest profile databases, providing advertisers with over 650 predetermined or custom-made audience segments that can be targeted with greater impact than ever before.”
Quebecor also offers its audience analysis platform DUO “as a one-stop-shop combining all Quebecor audience intelligence and providing a better understanding of different groups through segment analysis,” the release says.
“DUO is now available to advertisers as a self-serve feature that lets them hone their media purchasing and generate more strategic activations within the Quebecor ecosystem.”
Finally on the digital side, the connected-TV companion TVA+ “is showing steady growth and becoming a powerful tool for advertisers looking to reach targets via major streaming platforms such as Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV Stick.”
In terms of programming, TVA Group’s channels offer “a rich variety of news, sports and entertainment content designed to let advertisers showcase their brands in environments that fit their image,” the release says.
For the 2022-23 season, the TVA network is undergoing a major transition in news programming as Pierre Bruneau retires after 46 years, and Sophie Thibault takes over as anchor on Le TVA 17h and Pierre-Olivier Zappa helms Le TVA 22h, the release explains. In addition, Stéphan Bureau is returning to TVA as host of Le monde à l’envers, “a show that makes lots of room for heated debates and unorthodox opinions.”
TVA’s new scripted series include: Anna et Arnaud, based on the Francine Ruel novel Anna et l’enfant vieillard and starring Quebec actress Guylaine Tremblay; Hôtel, which focuses on “two characters engaged in a fierce rivalry to manage a posh hotel”; and Indéfendable, a new daily series that immerses viewers in the world of defence attorneys.
In addition, writers Anne Boyer and Michel d’Astous are back with Ma mère, “the second chapter in their anthology series dealing with mental health, starring Chantal Fontaine.”
Unscripted shows returning to TVA include La Tour, which will be hosted this year by Gildor Roy, Chanteurs masqués, Révolution and La Voix.
“Our speciality channels are building momentum with several original productions, such as the hit shows Espaces with Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse, Trois fois par jour et vous with Marilou, and J’t’aime gros with Mélissa Bédard and Christine Morency,” the release reads.
A new cooking competition show Le restaurant will premiere on Zeste, while on LCN “the focus continues to be on trustworthy news from here and around the world, delivered by popular hosts like Mario Dumont,” the release says.
“Finally, TVA Sports remains the place to be for major sports events, with the return of the NHL, MLB, MLS and WTA, to name a few. The sports channel also scores with flagship shows like L’après-match LNH and JiC, and it’s gearing up for even more success with the addition of fan-favourite La Poche bleue le midi with Stéphane Gonzalez, Maxime Lapierre and Guillaume Latendresse.”
