Xplornet buys fibre Internet infrastructure from the County of Annapolis

WOODSTOCK – Xplornet Communications announced today it purchased the Municipality of the County of Annapolis’ fibre Internet infrastructure. The county, which is located in Nova Scotia, sold its infrastructure once it realized it did not have the resources it needed to maintain ownership. “The County realized that it did not have the necessary manpower or expertise to attend to the many regulatory, financial, legal and administrative obligations ownership demanded, nor was it prudent to court the business risk involved in the project,” said Annapolis County warden Alan Parish, in an Xplornet press release announcing the purchase. “The deal will ensure...
