MONTREAL – Bell Media announced today it will air the dramatic series Chouchou (Pet), its first collaboration with author Simon Boulerice, this fall on Noovo.
The series, which features 8 60-minute episodes, “tells the story of Chanelle Chouinard (Evelyne Brochu; above, left), a 37-year-old French teacher, who falls in love with Sandrick (Lévi Doré; centre), a 17-year-old student steeped in trust and magnetism, but vulnerable. The series paints a nuanced portrait of two characters who lose their bearings and rush straight into a wall, hidden behind the illusion of a great love story,” an English translation of a French Bell Media press release explains.
Steve Laplante (right) plays Jeff, Chanelle’s spouse and father of her two children.
“We are very proud that Simon Boulerice chose Noovo for his very first non-youth drama series,” said Suzane Landry, vice-president, content development, programming and information at Bell Media, in the English translation of the press release.
“Simon is a very talented author, who has accustomed us to approaching complex themes with finesse, as he will in this series that deals with morality and the relationship of authority. Driven by high-level actors, Chouchou will certainly be the subject of viewers’ conversation the day after the broadcast.”
Chouchou is produced by Passez Go, in collaboration with Bell Media. It will begin filming at the end of April.
