TORONTO – iHeartMedia Canada announced today a new playlist feature, which includes curated, user-generated and personalized lists, is now available to listeners on the iHeartRadio app.
“An enhancement to the live radio experience with easy-to-use functionality, listeners can add songs from live radio directly into their playlists – all in one app,” a press release explains.
The curated playlists are expertly “crafted to fit any mood, activity, decade or genre. Listeners can access playlists curated by fan-favourite musicians, including Camila Cabello, Kenny Chesney, Weezer, and more,” says the release.
Listers are also able to follow what iHeartRadio hosts including Marilyn Denis, Jamar McNeil, Myles Galloway, Shannon Burns, and Shannon Ella are listening to, as well as having access to lists from MuchMusic VJs and creators at TSN’s BarDown.
User-generated playlists meanwhile, allow “listeners to discover and add music from live radio, their favourite hosts, the artists they love, and other playlists on the app, and share their playlists with friends,” the release says.
And finally, with the personalization option, listeners receive playlists customized based on their interests and listening activity. They also receive a weekly mixtape, delivered every Monday, which features their favourite songs as well as new discoveries.
“The addition of the all-new playlist feature also provides a multitude of brand integration opportunities, including branded playlists amplified across iHeartRadio platforms in Canada,” the press release says.
A subscription is not required to use the new playlist feature.
iHeartMedia Canada was formed through a partnership between Bell Media and iHeartMedia Inc.
