Comedian Christine Morency to star in new docuseries on Z

MONTREAL – Z, Bell Media’s French-language specialty service, announced yesterday comedian Christine Morency (above) will star in Christine Morency: Sans filtre (Christine Morency: Without a filter), a new six-episode documentary series.

Christine Morency: Sans filtre follows Morency while she gets ready to launch her first one-woman show, which she has been working on for several months.

“The series will highlight the important moments in the process that will lead to its big comeback in Montreal, while offering privileged access to an authentic, colorful personality loved by the public,” an English translation of a French press release says.

“A show and a tour is what all comedians dream of. Me, I still pinch myself to be there, even though I know that there is still a lot of work to be done to get to the premiere,” Morency said in the English translation of the release. “Thanks to the series, the public will accompany me in all this. Professionally but also personally. No filter, as usual. One thing is certain, we should have a lot of fun!”

“What a pleasure to offer the public exclusive access to the life of Christine Morency! The next year will be pivotal for her and we are privileged to be able to follow her step by step towards her first one-woman show,” said Mélanie Bhérer, general manager, variety, lifestyle and documentary for Bell Media. “Those who do not know her will be able to discover in Christine an exploded personality and a sense of repartee unfailing.”

The documentary is produced by Avanti-Toast in collaboration with Bell Media. It will be available to Crave subscribers seven days ahead of airing on television on Z in this fall.
