BNN Bloomberg to premiere Taking Stock with Amanda Lang


TORONTO — This Friday Jan. 21, a new weekly series featuring award-winning business journalist and author Amanda Lang, Taking Stock with Amanda Lang, will premiere on BNN Bloomberg at 6 p.m. ET, Bell Media announced today.

The 30-minute show will spotlight “the biggest and most significant stories affecting the world of business, the economy, and your money,” reads a press release.

As host of the series, Lang will highlight “the week’s business news with insight from industry experts, policymakers, and leaders.”

Taking Stock with Amanda Lang explores national and international topics that drive decision-making, policies, and politics — bringing stories from the international stage to Canadians and explaining why they matter,” the release reads.

“I’ve been covering business and the economy for 25 years, and the best part of the job is when we demonstrate why these subjects matter in people’s everyday lives,” said Lang, in the release.

“Each week, we’ll give Canadians a lens on their own finances by keeping them up to speed on the economic stories they need to know,” Lang said.

“As we collectively navigate our way through the pandemic, it’s never been more apparent the way business news affects us all,” said Richard Bloom, news director of BNN Bloomberg.

“This new series offers Canadians something that doesn’t exist anywhere else: a weekly summation of the key financial news stories, and an exploration of the impact they’ll make on life as we know it.

After airing on BNN Bloomberg on Fridays at 6 p.m. ET, Taking Stock with Amanda Lang will be rebroadcast on Fridays on CP24 at 9 p.m. ET and Saturdays on CTV News Channel at 2:30 p.m. ET.
