TORONTO – Earlier this month, Fairchild Radio Toronto held a fundraising event that raised over $340,000 for Princess Margaret Cancer Centre’s Cancer Experience Program.
The program “provides comprehensive support to help those conquering cancer,” a statement from Fairchild emailed to Cartt.ca says.
The fundraising event ran from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and featured “non-stop presentations by [Fairchild] DJs through live radio broadcast and social media.” People from across Canada and overseas donated.
“With over $340,000 raised, every donation counts as we continue to fight alongside those battling cancer,” the Fairchild statement reads.
“The current pandemic has made fundraising harder than ever, however, with great effort, Fairchild Radio Toronto, along with the Canadian Chinese community, have raised over $1 million.” That money was raised during three fundraisers this year, held for Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Mount Sinai Hospital and SickKids Hospital.
Fairchild Radio Canada will continue to support Canadian health care programs in the coming years.
